KERALA PIRAVI AND M.P. FORMATION DAY CELEBRATED AT HEMA  HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

The states of Kerala and Madhya Pradesh were established on November 1st 1956. This day is celebrated as ‘Kerala Piravi Dinam’ by Keralites all over the world. Before India achieved Independence in 1947, Kerala existed in the form of three independent provinces- Malabar, Cochin and Travancore. According to historians, word “Kerala” was derived from "kera", which means coconut tree. Kerala is a popular tourist destination and famous for its backwaters, Ayurvedic treatments and tropical greenery.

Madhya Pradesh is also celebrating its formation day today. Madhya Pradesh is the second largest state in the country & sixth-largest in terms of population.

On this occasion HEMA School, Govindpura Bhopal which is run by HEAVY ELECTRICAL MALAYALEE ASSOCIATION celebrated the Madhya Pradesh formation Day and Kerala Piravi. A folk song and dance depicting both the states were presented during the programme. An inspiring message was delivered by the Principal Mrs. Usha Nair. On this occasion the students pledged to keep the unity and integrity of the nation. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
